The name Sihana derives from an ancient language, meaning “like the moon” in the literal sense and “celestial, heavenly, or an ideal state” in the metaphorical.
Driven by our name, we set out to create an oasis where guests can enjoy healthy food first and foremost, but also be inspired by the creativity that went into developing our concept.
The cafe harbors art from prominent local artists, and its walls are witness to more than a century of life among Newark’s diverse communities. The aesthetic is a grand gesture toward preserving the building, while adding layers of color, shape and material to the overall concept.
